Pickering Neighbourhoods

TRREB splits Pickering into fifteen communities, and the map reads west to east and then north. Along the lake: Rougemount, Rosebank, West Shore and Bay Ridges. In the band between the 401 and the hydro corridor: Woodlands, Highbush, Amberlea, Dunbarton, Liverpool, Town Centre and Village East. Rising either side of Brock Road: Brock Ridge and Duffin Heights. North of the Canadian Pacific line, Rural Pickering covers Seaton and the hamlets, Whitevale, Greenwood, Claremont and Brougham among them. Rouge Park is the smallest of the set, a pocket beside the Rouge valley on the Toronto edge. Each guide below sets out boundaries, housing eras, transit, schools and parks, and the Miller team of Urban Avenue Realty, based one exit east in Ajax, works every one of them.

Questions people ask about Pickering Neighbourhoods

Which Pickering community should a GO commuter look at first?

Bay Ridges, where the station sits on Bayly Street at the community's northern edge, and Town Centre, which reaches the platform by the enclosed bridge from Pickering Parkway Terminal. Liverpool and Dunbarton are a short bus ride down Liverpool Road or Kingston Road. Seaton and the hamlets are a drive to either Pickering or Ajax GO.

Where are the newest neighbourhoods in Pickering?

Seaton, the provincially planned community north of the Canadian Pacific tracks, building since 2017 and listed by TRREB under Rural Pickering, and Duffin Heights on Brock Road, largely built since 2010. The City Centre plan around the mall will add the newest condo towers over the coming decade.

Which Pickering neighbourhoods are on the water?

Four: Rougemount and Rosebank above the Rouge River and Petticoat Creek on the Toronto side, and West Shore and Bay Ridges on the two shores of Frenchman's Bay. Direct waterfront lots are scarce because parks and the conservation authority hold most of the shoreline, so most water-side homes are on the streets behind the bluffs and the bay.
