Scugog Communities

Listings in Scugog use three community names. Port Perry is the town: the Queen Street downtown, the waterfront, the older streets and the subdivisions on the north and west sides. Blackstock is the eastern village in the old Cartwright Township, with its own school, arena and fair. Rural Scugog is everything else, and it is most of the township: Scugog Island and its beach communities, Caesarea and the east shore, Seagrave and Greenbank on the west, Prince Albert, Manchester, Epsom and Utica to the south and west, Nestleton to the east and the farms and acreage on the concessions between them. Each page below covers the housing, the roads, the schools and daily life for that community, then links to the detached homes page. For a specific hamlet or the island, begin on Rural Scugog and narrow by the map.

Questions people ask about Scugog Communities

Which community is Scugog Island listed under?

Rural Scugog. The island, its beach roads and the First Nation lands are outside the Port Perry urban boundary and are grouped with the rural addresses, even though the causeway puts the island a few minutes from Queen Street. Search Rural Scugog and use the map to isolate the island's shoreline homes.

Is Prince Albert part of Port Perry?

Not in the listings. Prince Albert is a hamlet just south of the town with its own public school, and although it functions as a suburb of Port Perry it is grouped under Rural Scugog. Homes there are a mix of century houses and newer builds, some on municipal services and some on wells, so check the listing for the service type.

Where do Caesarea, Seagrave and Greenbank fall?

All three are Rural Scugog. Caesarea is the cottage community on the east shore of the lake, Seagrave sits on the western shore road north of Port Perry, and Greenbank is the farming hamlet on Highway 12 with its own public school and airfield. Homes in all three are on private wells and septic systems.
