Comparing the three Ajax high ends
Lakeside buyers pay for the walk to the water and the quiet of streets that lead nowhere else, and they should ask about the shoreline, the conservation authority's regulated area along Duffins and Carruthers creeks and how old the house behind the location is. Riverside and Central West buyers pay for lot size, mature trees and a sense of privacy minutes from the 401 and Ajax GO; older homes there deserve a careful inspection of foundations, drainage and any additions. The north Ajax buyer pays for square footage, a modern layout and a newer roof and mechanicals, with the trade being smaller lots and a longer drive to the lake. All three attract buyers from Pickering and Toronto as well as local families trading up, so a fairly priced home at this level is not without competition.
